THE GENERAL RULES
the few rules you will be asked to follow during the time you spend as a member of finite incantatem are as follows. we advise you to read and take note of them.

not only are you expected to treat the administrators with respect, considering they did to to the trouble of providing you with this lovely little roleplay playground, but you're asked to treat your fellow members with kindness and to practice common courtesy. like if some maniac decided to start driving on the left side of the road, it would upset the balance of things and throw off our ratio of kind:damn unwelcome. use your manners; simple, really.

keep your smut to yourself. anything in the proboards terms of service applies here. look, we'd all really be miffed if our board was reported and deleted because of your awkwardly specific dirty details. you may fade into and out of the act, but please don't turn your thread into your own personal erotica. this isn't the place for it and no one wants to stumble upon it.
003.
this is the rule of limitations, for lack of better term. please post in size one font. you don't have to turn your posts into an ostentatious display of 'look what my html can do', but please keep your work presentable. clean it up, make it shine. we have an intermediate word count minimum of three-hundred and fifty, but we know you can do better than that. you're expected to keep your literacy on you at all times. no image should be large enough to stretch a page, and it isn't attractive to cuss like a sailor. anime doesn't belong here, nor do blood-suckers with a bedazzle fetish exposed by the sun shining on their gayface. or hayley williams. we're about quality here, so you won't get away with a case of writer's block that lasts...oh, let's say every post.
004.
if you're gone without a trace for ten days straight, your account is disabled and your character is now open. same goes for if you haven't posted in ten. note: clever 'mate, date, or shovel' post does not count.
005.
perfect characters are a turn off, and the admins reserve the right to regulate plots. i'm sorry if you were really hoping to be the eighth pregnant teen in a two-mile, fictional magical radius. the application code is 'stephenie meyer should not be trusted with a pen, i solemnly swear to keep it potter'.
006.
if you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact staff. they're highly qualified, helpful, humble folks.
007.
when you sign up for your account, we require that you register in all capital letters, first and last name. this is to create a uniform, nice look. on the canon list, we left the first names up to you, because it's quite annoying to not have the privilege of naming your own character. however, when naming your character, we require that you be realistic. his or her name isn't going to be taylor apple pear, and your character isn't going to have fifty middle names. be reasonable when naming your character, and make sure to take into account how you think others will feel about roleplaying with a sunshine daisy mcbunny.
008.
most people choose to make their first character a female, and there's certainly not a problem with that. we're not going to put a ban on either gender, but we'd like to ask you to keep the ratios fairly even. if you have six female characters, i can assure you that your heart will not stop if you make a male. the limit is for every two female characters, you will need to make a male. if this is a problem for you, there is a simple solution- don't ever exceed two females. however, we'd like to see you making male characters, or vice versa, every so often.
009.
to sum everything up, here is a few short rules that should be common sense, but most likely need to be restated for those who tend to break these simple, basic rules. no god modding, it's annoying and unattractive, so don't do it. you may not roleplay until you have been accepted, and once you have, you need to apply in the claims. be patient when waiting to be accepted, the administrators, though super human, have lives also. post in the absence board when you're going to be gone, no spamming, and no stealing. also, don't advertise any site, regardless of whose it is, in the chat-box. absolutely no exceptions.
